Frequently-asked questions
What does TAA-compliant mean?
TAA Compliance is a regulation set by the Trade Agreements Act of 1979 that requires United States Government agencies to purchase equipment manufactured or “substantially transformed” in the United States or other TAA Compliant Countries. “Substantially transformed” is defined as a good undergoing a fundamental change (typically in a country different than its origin) in form, appearance, nature, or character which adds to its value an amount or percentage that is significant in comparison to the original value.
What makes a UPS system TAA-compliant?
Uninterruptible Power Supply becomes a TAA Compliant UPS when it is either manufactured or substantially transformed in the United States or other TAA Compliant Country. Therefore, at the present time, UPS made in non-TAA Compliant Countries including but not limited to China, India, and Thailand can not be sold through any GSA Schedule.
What are the benefits of choosing Vertiv’s TAA/BAA compliant products?
Choosing Vertiv’s TAA/BAA compliant products offers multiple advantages: lower costs through production and assembly in TAA-certified locations, faster deployment due to improved lead times, easy installation and maintenance designed with customers in mind, and the convenience of a single vendor for all your infrastructure needs—including UPS systems, power distribution, racks, thermal management, secure KVMs, and modular solutions.
