Emergency lighting systems are critical in commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, transportation hubs, and other high-occupancy environments where visibility is essential during a power outage. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 101 requires emergency lighting systems to provide a minimum of 90 minutes of illumination, while National Electrical Code (NEC) Article 700 governs the installation and operation of emergency systems. Vertiv™ Liebert® APM2 UPS (10-120 kVA 208/480V) with modular internal lithium-ion batteries and an external VRLA battery cabinet has been tested and certified together for UL 924 and CSA C22.2 No. 141. It is designed to support compliant emergency lighting backup power applications.

Built to meet critical life safety requirements:

  • UL 924-certified backup power for emergency lighting systems
  • Double conversion online topology with 0 ms transfer time for continuous egress illumination
  • Supports high inrush currents for modern LED emergency lighting loads
  • Digital compliance logging to simplify testing, recordkeeping, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) readiness
  • Scalable configurations from 10 kVA to 120 kVA for a wide range of facility requirements
