The scalable Vertiv™ CoolPhase Ceiling cools with zero footprint, Vertiv™ CoolPhase Row supports high-density row-based equipment
COLUMBUS, Ohio [February 3, 2026] – Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, today announced the expansion of its thermal portfolio with the introduction of the Vertiv™ CoolPhase Ceiling and Vertiv™ CoolPhase Row cooling solutions for edge applications. The ceiling-mounted precision cooling unit is designed for edge computing and small IT spaces, preserving valuable floor space while delivering dedicated cooling for IT equipment. The row-based cooling solution is engineered for high-density data center environments and edge applications, enabling efficient thermal management close to the heat source. The Vertiv CoolPhase Row is available now in North America, while the Vertiv CoolPhase Ceiling will launch in Q2 2026.
“As AI drives more compute to the edge, operators face higher power densities in spaces not built for IT deployments or data center cooling,” said Michal Podmaka, director of Vertiv’s edge thermal product line. “The Vertiv CoolPhase Ceiling and Vertiv CoolPhase Row solutions address these challenges with complementary approaches—delivering targeted overhead and rack-level cooling that integrate seamlessly into Vertiv’s broader thermal chain. Built on Vertiv’s standardized controls and monitoring platforms, they enable consistent visibility and simplified management, to support efficient performance across diverse edge environments.”
Both solutions feature variable-speed components that adjust cooling output to match dynamic heat loads, enabling efficient energy use. Performance and capabilities are certified by AHRI, providing independent assurance of product performance and efficiency. The Vertiv CoolPhase models use R32 refrigerant, a low-global-warming-potential alternative that helps operators meet 2026 environmental standards and offers options for systems to meet future regulatory limits on high-GWP refrigerants, aligning with broader industry and regulatory transitions already underway across global markets. Intelligent Vertiv™ controls and remote monitoring give personnel real-time remote visibility and control, enabling reliable, optimized cooling for IT environments.
The Vertiv CoolPhase Ceiling offers cooling capacities ranging from 3.5 kW to 28 kW. Configurable models are available with customizable options including electric reheat, humidifier, water-side economizers, ducted configurations, or supply/return air grilles, allowing flexibility for various site needs. It provides effective outdoor heat rejection across an extensive temperature range from -31°F to 118°F (-35°C to 48°C), delivering precise temperature control 24/7/365.
The Vertiv CoolPhase Row delivers up to 30kW of cooling capacity in a 11.81 inch (300mm) wide configuration and 40kW of cooling capacity in a 23.62 inch (600mm) wide configuration, maximizing cooling capability while minimizing footprint. The system features dynamic capacity modulation (20-100%) to match real-time IT loads, dual power supply with automatic transfer switching for the condensing unit, teamwork connectivity for active standby control between units, and integrated remote monitoring connection to building management systems. With refrigerant pipe runs up to 295 ft and outdoor heat rejection capability from -31°F to 118°F (-35°C to 48°C), it provides flexible, reliable, and energy-efficient cooling for diverse data center environments.
