Speakers and Bios

Gio Albertazzi

Gio Albertazzi
CEO, Vertiv

Gio was named Vertiv CEO in January 2023. Along with establishing overall strategic direction, he is responsible for operations and business development across Vertiv globally. His broad focus is on operational performance improvement and strengthening Vertiv’s competitive position through innovation excellence, with a focus on growing the AI and HPC infrastructure portfolio.

Gio joined Emerson Network Power (now Vertiv) in 1998 and held positions with increasing responsibility, including plant manager, marketing and product management director for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and managing director for the Italian market unit. He was promoted to vice president services for the Liebert Europe business, was appointed vice president services for the broader EMEA region, and then vice president sales for EMEA. In 2016, Emerson Network Power rebranded as standalone company Vertiv, and Giordano drove significant operational and financial improvements while serving as president of the company in EMEA. Gio began his career at Kone Elevators, where he progressed through operations and product development leadership roles.

Gio holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan as well as a master’s degree in management from Stanford University.


Karsten Winther

Karsten Winther
President, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Vertiv

Karsten Winther is President of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Vertiv. He joined the company in 2018 as Vice President of Sales for EMEA and was promoted to his current position in March 2022. Karsten leads the overall EMEA strategy and performance focused on transitioning towards increasing customer-centric go-to-market approach.

Karsten has over 20 years of tech industry experience in management, sales and marketing functions, including a strong focus on channel and vertical markets. He has also led transformation of large-scale sales organisations. Before joining Vertiv, he held regional and country sales roles at Epson and NEC, and Cobham SATCOM, where he led global sales, marketing and service.

Karsten studied Business Economics at Copenhagen Business School and also completed a 2-year Rising Star programme at Esade in Barcelona, with emphasis on Strategy, Finance, Innovation, CSR and Leadership.

Vice President Enterprise Solutions & Operations, NVIDIA EMEA

The world of emerging, disruptive technologies has always been a major draw for Carlo. That’s why in 2015 he joined NVIDIA, the pioneer in AI computing. Carlo leads NVIDIA’s Enterprise Solutions and Operations. From scientific discoveries to artificial intelligence, modern data centers are key to solving some of the world’s most important challenges. The NVIDIA accelerated computing platforms gives modern data centers the power to accelerate deep learning, machine learning, and high performance computing workloads. Carlo’s career started off at Compaq as a telecom technology consultant, followed by various sales leadership roles at Hewlett-Packard. Carlo lives in Amsterdam with his wife and 4 children.

Emmanuel Becker brings to Mediterra DataCenters extensive expertise and a wealth of experience gained across various vertical markets, having held high-responsibility roles in Italy, particularly in the telecommunications and cloud sectors.

Over the course of his long professional career, Emmanuel Becker has held top executive positions in major companies in the industry, including serving as President of the Italian Datacenter Association (IDA) and Managing Director of Equinix Italy. Previously, Emmanuel also held roles such as Managing Director for Italy at eServGlobal, Vocalcom, Easynet Group, and Country Manager for Italy at Data4.


Alessandro Talotta

Managing Director, Italy of Digital Realty

Alessandro Talotta is an accomplished executive in the telecommunications sector with extensive leadership experience. Currently serving as the Managing Director at Digital Realty in Italy since May 2020, Alessandro also holds the position of Executive President and Chairman at MIX S.r.l. since May 2021. Previous roles include Chairman and CEO at Sparkle from December 2014 to May 2021, and significant leadership positions at TIM from 2001 to 2014, where Alessandro spearheaded the turnaround of the wholesale business and drove regulatory compliance.

Additionally, Alessandro played a key role in establishing WIND-INFOSTRADA as a market leader in the fixed telecommunications consumer sector from 1996 to 2001, and began a career at Italtel from 1990 to 1996, focusing on strategic planning. Alessandro holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from SDA Bocconi and an undergraduate degree from Università degli Studi di Milano.


Tiziano Durante

Cloud Region Lead, EMEA, Microsoft

In Microsoft since 2001, more than sixteen years dedicated to the Financial Sector industry, initially as an Infrastructure Architect and then as an Account Technology Strategist in the Enterprise Commercial Sales Division and working with global systemic banks. He developed vertical skills on hyper-regulated markets, especially on compliance, security, privacy and sovereignty.

In November 2022 he moved into the Cloud Region Lead role responsible for the Italian datacenter region business development and launch, happened in July 2023. Starting from 2024 he's member of the EMEA Cloud Commercial Team, responsible for the Europe North Area, including Poland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Luxemburg and Belgium plus Italy.


Alessandro Talotta

Peter Lambrecht is Vice President Sales for Vertiv in EMEA. He joined the company in 2002 as IS/IT VP EMEA and has served as managing director for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy as well as Vice President Key Accounts for EMEA. Before joining the company, he covered various management positions in IT for Duracell and Gillette. Peter graduated from Gent University in Belgium with a degree in Computer Science.


Stefano Mozzato

Vice President of Marketing, EMEA, Vertiv

With more than 25 years of experience at Vertiv, formerly Emerson Network Power, Stefano has held key roles, including leading the information and controls design team and serving as general manager of Hiross Flexible Space Systems in 2003. In 2005, Stefano was appointed Marketing Director of Emerson Network Power EMEA, and later became Marketing Director of the Precision Air Conditioning Division, focusing on marketing and marketing strategies.

Later, Stefano was promoted to Sales Director EMEA for Thermal Management. In October 2017, he took on the role of Country Manager, with the responsibility of defining and developing strategies for increasing business in the area and supporting the sales team in expanding the ecosystem of customers and partners. In 2024, Stefano was appointed as Vice President of Marketing for the EMEA region.

Stefano holds a degree in Communication Science and Technology from the University of Rome and a Master's degree in Network Business Administration from the University of Rome.


Andrea Ferro

Andrea has been with the company since 2007 serving in the marketing department and expanding his responsibilities in 2013 as a key account manager in the UK. In 2018 he was appointed EMEA AC Power business leader and in 2021 he was promoted to VP for technology application and market development for the region. In 2023 he became VP for channel, IT and edge applications in EMEA, and in 2025 he was appointed as VP for Power & IT Systems, EMEA. Andrea holds an Electronic Engineering degree from the University of Bologna and an Executive MBA at the Imperial College in London.


Vedran Brzić

Vice President of Infrastructure Solutions, Vertiv

As a Vice President of Infrastructure Solutions, Vedran Brzić brings over 17 years of tech industry experience to his role. Vedran and his team have been instrumental in designing and delivering solutions for medium to large-scale datacenter projects, telecom sites, and cable landing stations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North America, and South America. Their work extends beyond conventional solutions, as they actively explore new technologies and their application within the Vertiv ecosystem and the datacenter industry.

Before joining Vertiv, Vedran worked at Emerson Network Power where he was responsible for spanned system design, project engineering, project management, and site supervision. Vedran has a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing and an MBA degree from the Faculty of Economics & Business in Zagreb. He resides in Croatia where he continues to drive innovation and excellence in the field of engineering and technology.


Sam Bainborough

Sam Bainborough
Vice President, Thermal Business, EMEA, Vertiv

Sam joined the company in 2013 as key account manager for UK & Ireland, then progressing to key account director and is now VP for the EMEA thermal business team. He has 15+ years of experience in sales and engineering leadership positions. Sam is analytical and results-oriented with an ability to solve problems with a strategic mindset.

Sam currently lives in Switzerland working out of the EMEA HQ, he currently is awaiting final sign off of his Global MBA program.


Phil Cullerton

Phil Cullerton is Vice President of Services for Vertiv in EMEA, leading one of the company’s largest and most diverse regional organisations, spanning more than 40 countries and thousands of service professionals. With over two decades of international leadership experience across APAC, EMEA, and Latin America, Phil has a proven record of driving operational excellence, digital transformation, and customer-centric growth in complex, multi-region environments.

Since joining Vertiv, he has led the strategic transformation of the Services business, embedding governance, safety, and performance frameworks while accelerating the shift toward predictive, AI-enabled, and sustainable service models.

Before joining Vertiv, Phil held senior leadership positions at Johnson Controls, where he delivered large-scale operational transformation and service innovation across global markets. Passionate about people, technology, and purpose-driven performance, he is recognised for aligning strategy, execution, and culture to deliver lasting value for customers, employees, and shareholders.


Phil Cullerton

Vice President Switchgear and Busbar EMEA, Vertiv

Remco Sloothaak is Vice President for Switchgear and Busbar EMEA at Vertiv, where he leads strategic development and operational excellence across the region’s critical power infrastructure. With over 25 years of experience in electrical engineering and industrial project management, Remco brings deep expertise in modular deployment, high-density power systems, and data center resilience.

His role at Vertiv centers on guiding the development of scalable electrical architectures that meet the evolving needs of digital and industrial environments. With a focus on continuous improvement and practical innovation, Remco supports the alignment of technical solutions with market demands.
