Vertiv™ PowerIT firmware 7.3.0 includes new capabilities and sustaining fixes. It is compatible with Vertiv™ PowerIT Upgradeable Rack PDUs and RTS units equipped with Vertiv™ PowerIT Upgradeable IMD-5M models running firmware version 6.3.X or later.
Features and Enhancements:
This release includes the following features and enhancements:
- Shunt Trip (Apex PDU):
- SN-L leak-detection sensors can enable Shunt Trip. When Shunt Trip is enabled on the System – Shunt Configuration page and an SN-L leak is detected, the IMD issues the shunt-trip command.
- This release supports SN-L / leak detection for shunt-trip. Manual shunt-trip remains available through Modbus, API, and Redfish.
- Redfish includes shunt-trip operation support on platforms that report shunt-trip capability.
- Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) enhancements:
- More robust handling of large configuration files during bulk user creation, including empty and duplicate objects and arrays.
- Event-log reporting of configuration success and failure counts after a ZTP apply is corrected.
- Improved resilience of ZTP when an internal IPC error occurs during apply.
- Firmware, user interface, and related artifacts identify the product as Vertiv™ PowerIT Upgradable Rack PDU rather than Geist.
- Security and Library update.
- Defect fixes and reliability improvements:
- User enable/disable and delete requests via the Raven API are applied correctly to the underlying OS user accounts.
- On multi-feed units, outlet open-circuit-breaker (loss of load) detection is propagated to parent breakers on all feeds, not only the first feed.
- System warning and alarm counts reports only alarms and warnings that are currently tripped (acknowledged items are not counted as active).
Additional Notes
- IMPORTANT NOTE: Immediately following system startup, this firmware may update the internal rack PDU and/or RTS components, which can take up to 30 minutes to complete, depending on the device model and prior firmware version. During this time, a Component Update in Progress message displays. Please ensure the rack PDU or RTS is not reset or powered off during this process. If the PDU or RTS is powered off during the process, the firmware update must be reinstalled to run the component update again.
