Avocent HMX Managers v5 can now be upgraded to the version 6 firmware via the updates available on this page. Only hardware version 5 and newer Avocent HMX Manager models are compatible with this upgrade.

Please note that once a system is upgraded to the .30 version of firmware – either 4.30.0.18 or 6.30.x.x – units cannot be downgraded to a “non .30” release. For example, once upgraded to 4.30.0.18 a customer cannot downgrade to 4.0.0.18 or 4.10.0.18.
Before upgrading, read the release notes and technical documentation. The upgrade steps must be followed exactly as written. Failure to follow the steps could result in non-functioning units.
HMX1050 user stations and HMIQDI transmitters are only supported in an HMX version 4 and earlier systems. HMX1050 user stations and HMIQDI transmitters are not supported in an HMX version 6 system.
