The planned expansion opens opportunities for local talent, skills development and regional economic growth as demand for AI and data centre infrastructure accelerates
Ireland and the North West [August 10, 2026] – Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, today announced plans to expand its manufacturing and testing footprint across Ireland and the North West, driven by growing global demand for infrastructure solutions supporting AI, colocation and hyperscale data centre deployments.
Vertiv will be submitting an application to Donegal County Council for an additional 7,000 square metres of space at its Letterkenny facility, supporting the planned creation of up to 300 new jobs in the region. This latest milestone builds on Vertiv's established presence across Ireland and the North West, including operations in Letterkenny, Burnfoot and Campsie (Derry), alongside its Central Procurement Office in Limerick and its sales and service office in Dublin. The company is actively recruiting across these sites for current organic growth, reinforcing its position as one of Ireland's most significant industrial and technology employers.
Vertiv has already onboarded more than 500 employees across its local facilities since the beginning of 2026 and is continuing to recruit for a growing number of open positions. The new opportunities include multiple engineering and operational roles across the business. These positions will help expand manufacturing capacity while deepening Vertiv’s technical expertise in power, cooling and industrialised infrastructure solutions that enable faster, more efficient deployment of AI, data centre, and critical industrial applications worldwide.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin TD said: “Vertiv’s decision to expand in Donegal and create hundreds of new skilled jobs is very welcome news for the region and for Ireland. Investments of this scale support balanced regional development, strengthen our enterprise base, and demonstrate the confidence international companies continue to place in Ireland as a location for long-term growth.”
Paul Ryan, president of Vertiv in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), said: “This planned investment reflects the strategic importance of our operations across Ireland and the North West. As demand for critical digital infrastructure continues to accelerate, we are helping customers to deploy AI and data centre capacity worldwide. The expected extension, together with continued recruitment across our facilities, is part of our ongoing actions to support continued growth, while creating opportunities for skills development and career growth across the region.”
This proposed project is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland.
Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke TD said: “It is exciting to see Letterkenny attracting this level of investment from a global leader in critical digital infrastructure. This proposed expansion will allow professionals to build careers within a global organization while enjoying the unique quality of life the North West offers, and it underlines the integral role these facilities play in Vertiv’s global manufacturing network.”
Michael Lohan, CEO of IDA Ireland, said: “Vertiv’s continued growth in Co. Donegal is a strong example of how global companies can scale high-value operations from regional locations in Ireland. The expansion of its Letterkenny facility reflects the capability of the local team, the strength of the wider North West talent base, and the strategic importance of Vertiv’s Irish operations within its global business. IDA Ireland is pleased to support this investment and looks forward to continuing to work closely with Vertiv as it delivers on its ambitious growth plans.”
