Our commitment to future talent
At Vertiv, our technology powers the world’s most critical digital infrastructure, but it’s our people who make that possible. Investing in future talent is central to our long-term success, which is why we actively create pathways for students and early-career professionals to build meaningful, sustainable careers in engineering.
Through targeted education partnerships, apprenticeships, and hands-on learning opportunities, Vertiv is developing the next generation of engineers equipped to support AI, high-density computing, and the data centres of tomorrow.

From university to an engineering career
As part of our commitment to early talent development, Vertiv partnered with the UTC Heathrow Digital Futures programme for an initiative designed to connect students directly with industry.
This collaboration led to the recruitment of an Apprentice Thermal Engineer, demonstrating how early engagement, practical learning, and mentorship can successfully transition students from education into real engineering roles.
Early careers & apprenticeships
Our apprenticeship and early careers programmes are designed to help you learn, grow, and build a future in critical digital infrastructure. Whether you’re passionate about engineering, technology, or innovation, Vertiv offers opportunities to develop skills that matter today and tomorrow. Apprentices at Vertiv are not observers, they are contributors. The apprentice thermal engineer role includes:
Hands-on experience with real thermal and data centre engineering challenges
Learning alongside experienced engineers and specialists
Structured training combined with on-the-job development
Exposure to cutting-edge technologies supporting AI and digital infrastructure
Most importantly, apprentices are supported with clear development paths, ongoing feedback, and opportunities to grow within the organisation.
