Vertiv establishes Washington, D.C. presence to advance U.S. AI infrastructure leadership

October 23, 2025

With the launch of new government relations office, Vertiv strengthens its engagement with policymakers in the nation’s capital while underscoring its role in delivering AI-ready infrastructure worldwide, aligned with the U.S. AI Action Plan

COLUMBUS, Ohio [October 23, 2025] – Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, today announced the creation of a new government relations function and the opening of its Washington, D.C. presence with the appointment of Erica Thomas as director of government relations. This new function reflects Vertiv’s commitment to engaging more directly with policymakers at a time when U.S. leadership in artificial intelligence (AI) is a national priority. This new function reflects Vertiv’s commitment to engaging more directly with policymakers at a time when U.S. leadership in artificial intelligence (AI) is a national priority.

The launch comes as the administration advances its AI Action Plan and prepares to implement the American AI Exports Program, which is intended to mobilize U.S. industry to deliver full-stack AI solutions to international markets. With an extensive portfolio and decades of expertise in power, cooling, IT management, integrated systems, and global services, Vertiv is positioned as an ideal American-headquartered partner to enable the data center foundation required for AI computing.

Thomas brings over two decades of experience as a U.S. diplomat, where she led policy initiatives in Washington, Europe, and Asia, and has directed multiple industry coalitions focused on energy efficiency and sustainability measures for data centers. She leads Vertiv’s new Washington, D.C.-based team to help policymakers understand the critical role of critical digital infrastructure in enabling AI, while advancing policies that support resilient, sustainable digital growth.

“Our Washington, D.C. presence comes at a pivotal moment as the U.S. moves from planning to implementing its AI Action Plan,” said Gio Albertazzi, CEO at Vertiv. “Erica’s experience in the data center industry and knowledge of government regulations and policies make her an ideal leader for the government relations team. We are confident that Vertiv will help policymakers to recognize the essential role our infrastructure plays in enabling AI—whether through turnkey data centers, modular components, or globally serviced solutions.”
