Celebrating a Legacy of Compassion on the 75th Anniversary of Human Rights Day

On the 10th of December 2023, we commemorate the 75th Human Rights Day by staying firm in championing human rights. This day honors the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948, emphasizing the fundamental rights inherent to all human beings, regardless of race, sex, nationality, ethnicity, language, religion, or any other status. In honor of this milestone, Vertiv reaffirms its commitment to ethical practices, social responsibility, and the protection of human rights.

Preventing Slavery and Human Trafficking

As a global leader in critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, Vertiv recognizes the importance of upholding human rights. To meet its customers' expectations, Vertiv ensures that each supplier actively supports its values and extends them into its supply chain. It is committed to educating its suppliers and employees and participating in industry groups to promote supply chain visibility and accountability.

Vertiv is dedicated to eradicating human trafficking and modern slavery from supply chains worldwide through the Slavery & Trafficking Risk Template (STRT) Development Committee of the Social Responsibility Alliance.

Vertiv incorporates STRT principles into its human resources and supply chain policies, including:

Performing Due Diligence to Ensure Responsible Sourcing of Materials

Vertiv is committed to mitigating the humanitarian crises and ecological damage linked to mining practices in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and its neighboring nations. A member of the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI), Vertiv upholds a firm stand on responsible sourcing practices. It employs strategies and procedures with suppliers and stakeholders to reduce risks of sourcing minerals from mines within the DRC region.

Vertiv executes appropriate due diligence and submits a Conflict Minerals Report that discloses its supply chain information on conflict materials in compliance with Rule 13p-1 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. To determine whether suppliers have sourced conflict minerals or 3TG (tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold) from the DRC or other covered countries, Vertiv conducts a reasonable country of origin inquiry (RCOI).

The global leader also established a Cobalt Reporting program to identify and minimize the risk of human rights practices and other unethical business practices concerning cobalt mining and processing. More importantly, Vertiv unites its employees, customers, suppliers, and stakeholders concerning conflict materials by raising awareness regarding responsible sourcing.

Employing Proactive Steps to Fulfilling Its Corporate Social Responsibility

Committed to upholding human rights, Vertiv implements proactive steps under its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. Vertiv fulfills these responsibilities by reducing its environmental footprint, optimizing energy efficiency in its products and operations, minimizing waste, and promoting recycling. It also ensures its Corporate Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Policy governs all its facilities.

Vertiv is also dedicated to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment, ensuring employee safety, and contributing positively to its communities. As for governance, the global leader maintains high ethical behavior, transparency, and accountability standards, believing that this approach benefits their business, stakeholders, and the environment.

Conclusion

Vertiv is deeply committed to upholding and protecting human rights, with a particular focus on preventing human trafficking, slavery, and unethical sourcing of materials. The company's proactive policies, strict adherence to ethical standards, and comprehensive initiatives demonstrate its responsibility towards society.

Vertiv is dedicated to aligning its actions with its core values, highlighting its obligation to create a safer, more ethical, and responsible global business environment. By actively engaging with stakeholders and continuously evolving its practices, Vertiv seeks to maintain its position as a global leader in championing human rights.
