Offer prevents cooled air from mixing with the hot air released by equipment, helping data centers to achieve up to 30% gains in energy efficiency

Miami, Florida – [August 19, 2021] – Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, announces the availabity of the Vertiv™ Aisle Containment System in Latin America. This solution provides data center containment in order to prevent the cool air supplied by air conditioning systems to mix with the hot air expelled by equipment. The way this environment is managed directly impacts data center costs, and therefore the costs of the services offered by a given provider to the market. Thermal loss means waste of electricity, one of the major costs in data centers. Studies conducted by Vertiv’s engineering team show that the use of the Vertiv Aisle Containment System can increase energy efficiency by 30%.

The most common configuration for this solution is to install the Aisle Contaiment System in the area where equipment is positioned across from other equipment within an aisle format. In this format, Vertiv’s containment solution can ensure that within the aisle there will only be cold air. Hot air will continue to be released from the equipment rear side to the external environment. This air will return to the air conditioner without mixing with the cold air thereby increasing the system’s capacity and efficiency in general.

Vertiv’s Aisle Contaiment System solution is suitable for all data center racks available in the market, including equipment of different heights. “The system helps customers from the most diverse segments – from hyperscale sites dedicated to colocation to modular data centers supporting Edge Computing applications in hospitals, schools and government agencies – to meet their business and enegy efficiency goals,” says Rafael Garrido, vice-president for Vertiv Latin America.

Free standing technology does not stress data center structure

According to Alexandre Alves, integrated solutions offering manager for Vertiv Latin America, Vertiv’s Aisle Containment System brings unique differentiators to Latin America’s data center market. “Other containment solutions rely on racks, which stresses a structure which was not designed for that and makes it impossible to use racks with different heights. Vertiv’s offer is free-standing, installed on posts that are part of the solution and that are also designed and manufactured by Vertiv.”

The fact that the Vertiv Aisle Containment System is a Vertiv standardized solution also contributes for the data center to meet its energy optimization goals. “This can reduce the time between the solution design and its installation in the data center”, says Alves. This gain is explained by the fact that this is a flexible, but standardized, solution, completely aligned with data center best practices. “It is not necessary to waste time with technical inspections anymore, and the customized preliminary draft, project and assembling of the containment solution can be avoided also.”

Vertiv Aisle Containment System is available through the Vertiv Brazil channel

"Our partners have now access to an offer that accelerates data center projects, reducing delivery times and increasing a data center’s energy efficiency,” summarizes Alves. Vertiv’s solutions integrators, which are part of the Vertiv Partner Program (VPP), have access to an application that helps them with the Vertiv Aisle Containment System configuration, providing answers tailored for the challenges of each customer. “Once more, Vertiv delivers to its channel ecosystem a solution with our brand’s DNA of excellence – from design to deployment, including the manufacturing and testing processes.”
