The Indian data center market has blossomed into a dynamic and rapidly evolving landscape, driven by a surge in digital transformation, supportive government policies, and significant investments. In recent years, hyperscale facilities have flourished, and cutting-edge technologies have been adopted, solidifying India's position as a future global data center hub. However, this exponential growth in data consumption necessitates a sustainable expansion of data center infrastructure. Data centers are energy-intensive, consuming vast amounts of electricity for cooling and powering servers, which contributes to GHG and climate change.

Therefore, embracing sustainable practices, such as integrating renewable energy, adopting energy-efficient cooling technologies, and implementing water conservation measures, is both an ethical imperative and a strategic advantage.

As you would be aware, to facilitate sustainability in the Data Centers and its applied areas, IGBC has been working since 2007. IGBC has developed Green Data Center Certification programme in 2016 and Net Zero framework was launched in 2018 to further accelerate transformation in data centers. Today’s buyers of digital services are increasingly demanding green infrastructure, and policies are being developed to facilitate sustainability in Digital Infrastructure.

Against this backdrop, CII’s IGBC is pleased to announce the 4th edition of the “Data Center Summit (DCS) 2024” with the theme “Empowering India's Digital Transformation Through Sustainable Data Centers” scheduled for 21 and 22 August 2024 at The Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru. The previous editions of the Data Center Summit (DCS) have received an overwhelming response from both India and abroad. DCS serves as an excellent business platform for networking, initiating, and expanding new partnerships, as well as exploring new and emerging sectorial trends.

An elite group of senior industry leaders/veterans meet annually to brainstorm for the future solutions, to contribute for the growth of Indian Data Centers. This is the 4th AGM. It is expected that India would be the Global Data Center Hub. Considering this, it is well versed that there are immense opportunities for all DCs, service providers, DC experts etc. however, there are challenges to build tomorrow's DC which are more sustainable and resilient as well. Members would be invited to deliberate and seek solutions, for which IGBC and Members would work together.

Raghuveer Singh

Senior Director – Colo/Cloud Thermal Solutions, India

Mr. Raghuveer Singh is the Sr Director, Colo/Cloud Thermal Solutions (India). Mr. Singh is driving in new Cooling solutions, technologies, and new products to strengthen Vertiv market positioning and responsible for devising strategies that will enhance Vertiv market share and position Vertiv as most preferred partner in the market. Mr Singh is working closely with Vertiv local, global Product & Engineering teams for bringing in new innovations to market. Approx 20 years of experience in Data centre Thermal management, Mr Singh has previously spearheaded key positions in Vertiv such as Director –Sales and Application Engineering, India. Mr Singh has previously held key sales position in Uniflair India Pvt ltd.

Mr Singh is extensively participating in Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) programs. Mr Singh is awarded IGBC fellow in 2023. Mr singh was Group Chair for data centre cooling group for Preparing ECBC (Energy conservation building code) Guidelines for Indian Data centres. Mr Singh was distinguished speaker at ASHRAE Srilanka Chapter 2014 (Topic-Why Precision AC), ASHRAE Mumbai Chapter 2017 (Topic- Aisle Containments Hot Vs Cold), Multiple ISHRAE Programs across India, CII-IGBC Technology forums presentations across India, CII 2019 Data Centre Summit Panel Moderator, Key speaker in CII 2021 Data Centre summit – Topic Immersion Cooling – A business case for green data centres

Mr. Singh holds a Bachelor Of Technology ( BTech Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur and Post graduate diploma (PGDM) in General Management from Narsee Monjee institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai.
