So when one of Compass’ Northern Virginia residents approached them regarding sound disturbances from one of their campuses, it made sense for the two partners to come together and tackle the problem.
Challenges
In-depth research by Compass’ and Vertiv's team of specialists and sound engineers uncovered that certain lower frequencies had noticeable decibel peaks. Upon examining the issue, the engineering and infrastructure teams pinpointed a flaw in the support structure of one of the fans.
Solution
The solution Compass implemented is a subtle yet impactful modification to the affected fan’s support bracket, effectively reducing the turbulent airflow and noise. This is a prime example of how a minor adjustment can substantially improve the system's operation.
