How channel partners can help build the right infrastructure for the future

Saida Ortiz •

Channel partners in Latin America can help their clients build an infrastructure that meets the demands for new digital solutions.

In Latin America, organizations are facing the challenge of building critical infrastructures that can support new technological trends such as the Internet of Things (IoT), 5G and Edge Computing.

The companies that have met this challenge with success all have in common two elements: agility and forward-thinking that enables them to deploy solutions for a new post-pandemic model. The Accenture "Future of Work Study 2021" found that 63% of high-growth companies have adopted a "productivity anywhere" workforce model.

This new environment requires investments in technology such as security, digital solutions, and connectivity. In this sense, Latin America closed 2021 a growth in IT investment of 8.5% according to IDC, and forecasts that for this year the figure will increase to 9.4%.

The continuous increase in IT investments shows how companies are focusing on adapting and creating the infrastructure needed to support the development of IoT or 5G,  although the region still has a long way to go fully embrace such trends.

Channel partners can play a key role in this roadmap by providing customers with thought leadership on trending technologies, and offering expertise, products and services that can provide the foundation for IoT, 5G and Edge. They can be a part of the innovative efforts of their customers and help enable the success of their infrastructure projects.

How can they do this? By preparing to deliver the best technology solutions and executing two key steps within their own business models:

  • Learn and specialize: Channel Partners need an understanding of the business and the industry first, to later create, innovate and develop the infrastructure needed to make these trends a reality.

At Vertiv, we are actively working with our partners to help them understand the technology and special needs of different industries. For instance, how can the emergence of IoT offers opportunities for colocation facility owners and telecom providers.

Understanding the nuances of industries such as finance, health, manufacturing, and telcos will be key to playing an active role in this transformation. According to a report by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), only 22% of telecom companies have successfully executed a digital transformation initiative. When partners understand and communicate their knowledge of the customer challenges, they demonstrate that new technologies are not out of reach – they are available today and can help them achieve their digital transformation goals.

  • Partner ecosystem strategy: Service companies must reinvent their value proposition and how they work with other organizations in the ecosystem to provide the innovation their clients need. Taking Vertiv’s solutions and enhancing them with technologies by cloud providers, device manufacturers in IoT, and augmented reality, among other areas, will create a solution more suited to the demand of each specific industry.

Our channel program is the first step towards that co-creation. We believe in collaborating with our partners to envision and build future-ready infrastructures. For further information, visit Vertiv.com

We invite you to attend to the Vertiv LATAM Partner Summit, that is going to be held on October 20th, to learn more of the partner ecosystem strategy.
